Windscreen replacement costs vary depending on your vehicle, glass type, and any features like ADAS cameras or heads-up displays. A basic windscreen might cost around £200-300, while a luxury car with advanced features could be £600-900. The good news? That price includes everything: the glass, fitting, our technician coming to you, VAT, and any necessary calibration.
Can I drive immediately after windscreen replacement?
Not quite immediately, but you won't be waiting long. Modern adhesives need about 1-2 hours to cure enough for safe driving. We'll let you know the exact safe drive-away time when we finish the job - it depends on the adhesive used and weather conditions. For side and rear windows though? You can drive right away as soon as we're done!
Will my insurance cover windscreen replacement?
Most comprehensive car insurance policies include windscreen cover, often with a reduced or zero excess. We work directly with 25 major UK insurers and can handle the entire claim process for you - you just need to give us your policy details. Even better, many insurers don't count windscreen claims against your no-claims bonus. Give us a call and we'll check if we work with your insurer.
What's the difference between repair and replacement?
A repair is for small chips (smaller than a £2 coin) that haven't spread into cracks. We inject resin into the chip, cure it, and polish it smooth - takes about 30 minutes and costs around £50-80. Replacement is for larger cracks, chips in the driver's line of sight, or damage within 3cm of the edge. We'll always be honest about which option is right for your situation - if we can repair it and save you money, we will.
Do you really come to my location?
Absolutely! That's the whole point of our mobile service. We come to your home, workplace, or anywhere else that's convenient for you across the entire UK. The only requirements are that we need a flat, safe area to work (like a driveway or car park) and access to your vehicle. We bring everything we need - you don't have to provide anything. Some very remote locations might incur a small travel fee, but we'll always tell you that upfront in your quote.
What is ADAS calibration and do I need it?
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems - that's all the clever safety features like lane assist, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. If your car has cameras or sensors mounted on or near the windscreen, yes, you'll need calibration after replacement. When we fit a new windscreen, even a tiny difference in position can throw these systems off. We'll recalibrate everything using manufacturer-approved equipment to ensure your safety systems work perfectly. The calibration cost is included in your quote - we'll never spring it on you as an extra.
How long does the whole process take?
For a standard windscreen replacement without ADAS calibration: about 45-90 minutes. With ADAS calibration: add another hour. Side windows are quicker at 30-45 minutes. Rear windows take 1-2 hours. These are approximate times - your technician will give you a more accurate estimate when they arrive and assess your specific vehicle. We'll work as efficiently as possible without rushing or compromising on quality.
What's your warranty coverage?
Every job we do comes with a comprehensive 2-year warranty covering both the glass and the workmanship. This means if there's any issue with the installation or the glass itself (excluding accidental damage or wear and tear), we'll put it right at no cost to you. Our warranty is transferable too, so if you sell your car within that 2-year period, the new owner benefits from it as well.
